You may know there is MultipartRequestHandler in Struts and you can write in struts-config.xml. I had file upload long ago in my Struts 1.2.x web application.

I have tried to evaluate file upload in RichFaces 2.0 Aplha 2 release.

It looks nice, but the main problem is that this component is not really JSF2 ready in the last ICEFaces 2.0 Alpha 3 release. Afterthat I spent many hours with ICEFaces file upload. I could use it on my local GlassFish server, but on the same remote GlassFish server with the same configuration I get an HTTP exception and no hints in log files. I've tried PrimeFaces' file upload, but it behaves very strange. Welcome to JSF Sadly file upload is missing in JSF. Yet, my trouble is that the fileUploadLister method isn't called at submission. However, I just succeed in submitting files eventually: I had a filter that wasn't targeting the FacesServlet. It would be strange to have to put it on pieces to make it run. I am porting a Struts application under JSF 2. It not the first time I read this idea about splitting existing forms of a web application in order to allow JSF 2 working. Fields and files have to be on the same form to allow the user to understand something.
